Thе Prophеt ﷺ sаіd:
فضل كلام الله على سائر الكلام كفضل الله على خلقه
"Thе supеrіorіty of thе spееch of Аllаh ovеr аll othеr spееch іs lіkе thе supеrіorіty of Аllаh ovеr Hіs crеаtіon." [Tirmidhi]
What Allah ﷻ says about the Qur’an
تَنزِيلًۭا مِّمَّنْ خَلَقَ ٱلْأَرْضَ وَٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ ٱلْعُلَى
A revelation from He who created the earth and highest heavens [20:4]
لَوْ أَنزَلْنَا هَـٰذَا ٱلْقُرْءَانَ عَلَىٰ جَبَلٍۢ لَّرَأَيْتَهُۥ خَـٰشِعًۭا مُّتَصَدِّعًۭا مِّنْ خَشْيَةِ ٱللَّهِ ۚ وَتِلْكَ ٱلْأَمْثَـٰلُ نَضْرِبُهَا لِلنَّاسِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ
If We had sent down this Qur’ān upon a mountain, you would have seen it humbled and splitting from fear of Allāh. And these examples We present to the people that perhaps they will give thought. [59:21]
هَـٰذَا بَلَـٰغٌۭ لِّلنَّاسِ وَلِيُنذَرُوا۟ بِهِۦ
This [i.e. Qur’an] is a Message for mankind: Let them take warning therefrom… [14:52]
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ قَدْ جَآءَتْكُم مَّوْعِظَةٌۭ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ وَشِفَآءٌۭ لِّمَا فِى ٱلصُّدُورِ وَهُدًۭى وَرَحْمَةٌۭ لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
O mankind, there has come to you instruction from your Lord and healing for what is in your hearts and guidance and mercy for the believers. [10:57]
Required Steps in order to be guided by the Qur’an
- Recite it (قراءته) correctly – with correct pronounciation and correct tajweed.
- Understand the message (فهم/تدبر)– through the study of tafseer, Arabic language
- Implement its teachings (عمل)
Hearts that flourish with the Qur’an will result in enormous changes in individuals who will then be treading upon the straight path (الصراط المستقيم) that leads to success in dunya and eternal happiness in Jannah.
